Testing the iOS Application

Sybase Unwired Platform Article Series #7

In the 7th and penultimate article of my Sybase UnWired Platform Series developing against iOS, we have created the app and now need to iteratively test. Testing the iOS/SUP application uses a combination of Apple's Xcode Environment, the SUP Control Center and the Logs generated by the Unwired Server

Below is a screen shot of the SUP Control Center web console. This is where we need to register a user against the Unwired Server, including an activation code, before we run the iOS client that has been written. This is accessible via the URL https://<servername>:8283/scc/#

Admin

The user id and activation code, that was created above, is referenced in the application settings bundle of the application. Once deployed these are accessible by the settings app in the iOS itself, shown below.

Settings for iSurvey

When all the above are set we can run the application, in this case within the simulator and watch for statements in the Xcode console.

Below is an example of the first few statements displayed as the app connects to the Unwired Server and starts to create the remote database and synchronize the data.
